Steve writes songs about all kinds of things, love and loss, people and places, life and death, funny songs, stupid songs, serious songs, songs of redemption, songs of joy and passion and humour, hopefully they're all entertaining and even thought provoking. You won't like them all, you may not like any of them but then there's no accounting for taste. Music nowadays has never been so diverse and there's pretty much something for everybody and it doesn't really matter what's cool and what isn't. Stevy Alex isn't cool in the accepted sense of the word. He doesn't sing with a manufactured voice and vie for fame in the popular sense, he just does his thing in his own way with mostly acoustic instruments such as mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, fiddle, harmonicas, guitar, acoustic bass and such, but not exclusively so. Steve crosses the boundaries of many genres, hopefully bringing them all together to create something truly unique. You won't see him at any folk festivals at least not until the folk community lets down it's guard a little, but then who knows what the future may bring because essentially Steve is a folk singer in the truest sense of the word .He sings about the people and the situations that make up our lives today in a way that has no pretensions, that involves real musicianship born of years of experience in many genres that comes together to create a completely individual style that must surely include something you'll grow to love for what it is,just no nonsense, original, memorable music..
